About

Trading Education is the SmartQA Academy section about how trading platforms, automated strategies and risk work. It is written for learners who want to understand MetaTrader 5, MQL5, backtesting and position-sizing arithmetic. It does not tell anyone what to trade.

What we cover

  • MT5 Platform: How MetaTrader 5 works: accounts, orders, time and the terminal.
  • MQL5 Programming: Expert advisors, indicators, order handling and error codes.
  • Backtesting: Strategy Tester, data quality, overfitting and honest evaluation.
  • Risk Management: Position sizing, drawdown and the arithmetic of risk.
  • Psychology & Journaling: Discipline, trading plans and keeping a useful journal.
  • Market Mechanics: Spreads, swaps, slippage, margin and leverage.

How guides are made

Each guide starts from a question people actually ask. We research it against primary sources, and every factual claim is cited. Drafting is assisted by AI. Before anything is published, a person reads the full draft, checks the cited claims and either approves it, sends it back for changes or rejects it. Our editorial policy describes each step.

Who reviews the guides

Shlomo Nachmani
Algorithmic trader and educator (education only; not a licensed investment adviser)

He reviews every guide. He manages no one else’s money, provides no signals and gives no personal advice, and the guides never publish the settings of his own trading systems.

Shlomo Nachmani (M.Sc., CQM) is a medical-device quality and regulatory consultant. He has built and run ISO 13485 and FDA quality systems, prepared CE technical files through notified-body audits, and supported 510(k) and international registrations. He also develops and tests algorithmic trading systems on MetaTrader 5.

What we don't do

  • We don't give investment advice, signals or recommendations to buy or sell anything.
  • We don't promise or imply profits. Backtests and worked examples are labeled hypothetical or illustrative.
  • We don't name, compare or link to brokers, and we don't take affiliate commissions.
  • We don't publish guides that haven't been reviewed by a person.

How the site is funded

Trading Education plans to carry display advertising served by Google. Advertisers have no say over what we publish, and an ad is not an endorsement. SmartQA Academy is also preparing courses, and guides end with a note about them.

Part of SmartQA Academy

Trading Education is a content section of SmartQA Academy, alongside QA/RA Insights and Home Guides. Each section has its own editorial focus and the same review process.
